Live Broadcast from

The Garrick Theatre

On Thursday 27 October 2016 at The Garrick Theatre in the West End of London, The Kenneth Branagh Theatre Company broadcast their play 'The Entertainer' live to cinemas worldwide.

The Flying Grip and Camera Company were there to provide one of the first free flight, one camera coverage of the entire performance using a bespoke 3.3D compact rig equipped with the 'Stableye' head. Winches had to be erected outside and rigging brought through into the theatre without damaging the 127 year old structure to allow the camera to move effortlessly around the interior and stage area

A single operator using a joystick controlled the camera throughout the entire running time to bring a cinematic experience of the theatre to the public during a matinee and evening performance.
